Is it still Spring Break if you homeschool??????

Just pondering the verbiage.  We are really only taking a break from the "home" part.  We are off! In just a few short hours, we'll be on a plane.  Sunshine State!!!!!  Our Disney trip isn't for a few more months, to my dismay as I am a FANATIC of anything with the mouse ears affixed to it.   However, we will be hitting Downtown Disney, West Side, Sea World, Discovery Cove...and, Venice.   Venice brings back so many childhood Easter memories.  My parents live in my grandparents' former home, and we spent every Easter there.  Good times.  Sentimental present.

We will be taking FIAR with us, but only to use as a template; I have a book chosen; "Arthur's Vacation".  I know, I know...it's vacation, why work?  Well, frankly, the reason is twofold.  My Emily needs routine, almost craves it.  And also, I want my girls to understand early on that learning takes place anytime, anywhere.  Not sure how much we'll see in the line of history, (unlike our annual trips to Williamsburg).  But we will get to see animals (Sea World, Sarasota Aquarium), and we will be taking a boat trip, (Snook Haven), and we will do some beach "treasure hunting".  But it helps to have that morning routine.  Our lapbooks might be lackluster, due to limited craft supplies, but they will later serve as mementos.  Because, although we will read about Arthur each morning, I do plan to subdivide the lapbook between Arthur's family trip and our own.

I hope everyone has a blessed Easter, or whatever your family chooses to celebrate, even if it's just the celebration of FAMILY TIME.   Make it a good one, people - create some mementos and memorable events of your own!!!!!
