We are getting snow today at the Jersey Shore. How very exciting! I adamantly do not drive in snow, so any days that we get filled with the fluffy white precipitation are homebound days. And I cherish them.
We got a blizzard before winter even started. 20" of snow. It was fantastic! But that was a storm who's footprint was gigantic, and its path was northbound up the coast. That is the only way my area sees significant snow. The waters of the Atlantic, less than a mile from my home, keep our totals low - sometimes only plain rain! - when the storms are moving in any other direction.
I knew this storm was coastal, and I KNEW we should be getting some accumulation. But until today, the forecast was for only flurries. Oh, how I want to be a meteorologist; I can't imagine, as a nurse, still having a job if I was wrong as often as a meteorologist. Woke up this morning - STORM WARNING! I knew it! I. Am. Awesome.
Granted at the moment they are only expecting three inches for us. But time will tell. And even three inches is enough to make a snow angel.
Prior to the storm's commencement, we are heading to the local mall. Disney Store is hosting a Princess Party! My girls are excited, and have changed their minds at least eleven times each as to whom to dress up as.
Then, back home. Snow. Bread-making. Chicken soup-making. And family time. How fabulously, fantastically cozy!
